SERENITY

by M.Ray Fuqua, ASPC Florence AZ

To what I owe the falling rain,
Who drowns out my fears, sorrow and pain.
Who’s metholocal rhythm helps me to sleep,
Away to a place where memories keep.

For in this sweet madness, I lay so content,
No bothers or worries for dreams left unsent.
No debts to be paid, no price for tax,
Yet my heart stays labored, My mind can’t relax.

I go to a place I’ve not known,
Where I can feel free to venture and roam.
Take in the beauty, smell all the flowers,
Who knows what will be in those slumbering hours.

Enjoy the moment, live for the day,
There’s so much to do, so much to say.
Can’t go everywhere, yet can go the distant by far,
Travel any land, fly to a star.

Freedom is liberty, bliss to be given,
For deep in my dreams I stay busy living
But when I awake and reality sets in,
I continue refusing to this ok prison.

So if my days stay going
And my nights go unseen,
Remember I’m happiest
Inside of my dream.
